In September of 2006, I shall find myself completely alone, attending my senior year of university at NAZAN UNIVERSITY, located in Nagoya, Japan. here are the kanji which make up its name:

from how i take it, the kanji mean, "distinguished old house/shop/seller/room". whatever....

i will be spending my last year of undergraduate studies putzing around with such classes as:

-japanese language (of course)
-japanese history

i say its a pretty sweet deal, if you ask me. i hope that my host family has a little bunny hop-hop like Magu, here...

in all actuality, im terrified. im terrified to be away from ross for 9 months, terrified to be in a strange country and have to celebrate both new years AND my 24th birthday ALONE, away from friends and family...away from ROSS, the person I need the most out of anyone in the world...terrified that my japanese wont be good enough...

but at least when I return, I will have a wonderful experience under my belt, I'll be fluent in Japanese, I'll be ready to graduate with my B.A. in East Asian Studies, and by that fall, I will be free to move to Toronto to be with Ross and begin graduate school.

I am jealous. While you're there could you please take a class in the noble art of the Samurai.

Also, when you get to Japan you'll soon discover that Ross is already famous there. He has the amazing habit of being known in the most unlikely of places. And as we all know, Japan is a highly unlikely place.

Now, I'm not sure what kind of rabbit that is, but it's a lot closer to the shape of the spring-time biscuits made in Greggs the bakers.
Japan is one of the few countries which considers me mostly male.
